Dubai – Mubasher: The benchmark index of Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Tuesday’s trading session at 2,742.35 points, down 0.83% or 23.02 points, unlike its positive performance on Monday, 10 February.
A total of 143.21 million shares were traded through 2,572 transactions at a value of AED 181.39 million.
The market cap value declined by AED 1.84 billion to AED 378.29 billion from AED 380.13 billion during the previous session.
As for the sectors, the consumer staples topped the decliners with 1.75%, while the investment and financial services led the gainers with 0.90%.
Emirates Refreshments Company came on top of 18 losers with 10%, while Takaful Emarat led 11 winners with 8.33%.
Islamic Arab Insurance Company (Salama) recorded the highest trading volume of 27.13 million shares, while Aramex posted the highest turnover of AED 36.20 million.
Regarding the losing blue chips, Damac Properties topped the list with 4.61, whereas Dubai Investments was the rising blue chip with 1.52%.
