DFM down on Wednesday; market cap records AED 314bn

Dubai – Mubasher: The main index of Dubai Financial Market (DFM) decreased by 1.04% or 23.14 points to 2,207.95 points by the end of Wednesday’s trading session, reversing its positive performance on Tuesday, 10 March.

A total of 178.49 million shares were exchanged through 3,411 transactions at a total value of AED 229.50 million.

The market cap value declined by around AED 5.99 billion to close at AED 314.89 billion from AED 320.88 billion during the previous session.

As for the sectors, the consumer staples headed the decliners with 3.48%.

At the same time, Shuaa Capital led 26 losers with 10%, while Gulf Navigation Holding topped nine risers with 8.29%.

Deyaar Development was the most active stock with 25.70 million traded shares, while Emirates NBD recorded the highest turnover of AED 53.38 million.

Damac Properties led the losing blue chips with 5.83%, while Dubai Investments came on top of the rising blue chips with 0.85%.
