DFM down on wave of declines at open

Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a bearish performance in Sunday’s early trades amid the decline of most stocks.

 The DFMGI lost 4% or 112 points to reach 2,703.46 points by10:35am UAE time.

Gulf markets will continue the downward trend they witnessed last week due to lower oil prices, said Ibrahim Al-Failakawi.

The investment sector led losers after falling 5.63%, followed by the real estate, banks and telecom sectors at 5%, 3.12% and 1%, respectively.

Arabtec Holding retreated 6%, followed by Emaar Properties, Dubai Islamic Bank and Dubai Investments at 5%, 4.24% and 6.2% in a row.

Turnover reached AED 92 million after 87.5 million shares were traded through 1,130 transactions.
