DFM ends 1st day of trading in 2020 in green

Dubai – Mubasher: The main index of the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) declined by 4.23 points, or 0.15%, to close Thursday’s trading session at 2,769.09 points.

The market’s trading value amounted to AED 39.80 million after 30.42 million shares were exchanged through 736 transactions.

Meanwhile, the market capitalisation advanced by about AED 480,000 to close the year's first trading session at AED 374.65 billion from AED 374.17 billion on Tuesday.

The consumer staples sector grew by 2.77%, followed by the investment and financial services and real estate sectors by 0.92% and 0.46%, respectively, whereas the services sector fell by 0.90%.

Dar Al Takaful topped the risers with 6.60%, while Gulf Navigation Holding led the decliners after sliding by 9.89%.

DXB Entertainments headed the market in terms of trading volume with 5.07 million shares, while Emaar Properties registered the highest turnover of AED 7.23 million.

The blue-chip stock DXB Entertainments advanced by 3.93%, while Damac Properties Dubai went down by 0.13%.
