DFM ends Sunday near stable on blue chips

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) ended Sunday’s trading session with a positive performance, supported by purchasing transactions on some blue-chip stocks.

The general index inched up 5.33 points, or 0.21%, ending the first session of the week at 2,531.35 points.

The DFM’s trading volume stood at 206.67 million shares by the end of Sunday, compared to 143.34 million on Thursday, while liquidity rose to AED 148.83 million against AED 128.34 million in the previous session.

The consumer staples sector topped gainers adding 5.3% as DXB Entertainment grew 6.12%, followed by the insurance sector with 2.7% as Islamic Arab Insurance (SALAMA) grew 4.93%.

Similarly, the investment sector levelled up 0.53% as Shuaa Capital and Dubai Investments advanced 1.23% and 0.78%, respectively.
