DFM falls Thursday; consumer staples lead losers

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a negative performance on Thursday, backed by sales of blue chips.

The general index fell 0.47% or 16 points to reach 3,402.31 points.

The consumer staples sector led losers with a 2.86% decrease as Marka and DXB Entertainments went down 3.56% and 2.8%, respectively.

The investment sector sank 2.34% after SHUAA Capital and Dubai Investments retreated 3.3% and 2.8%, respectively.

The real estate sector declined 0.36% as Emaar Properties and Drake and Scull International (DSI) slid 0.63% and 3.54%, respectively.

Turnover reached AED 471.17 million after trading 349.63 million shares through 4,540 transactions.
