DFM falls below 2,700 pts at open

Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a negative performance on Tuesday due to a decline in blue-chip stocks of the real estate, banks and investment sectors.

The DFMGI fell 1.7% or 46 points to reach 2,658 points by 10:35am UAE time.

The services sector topped decliners after losing 3.87%, followed by the investment, real estate and banks sectors at 2.42%, 2.3% and 1.03%, respectively.

The telecom and industrial sectors remained unchanged.

On the stock-level, Emaar Properties was the worst performer after declining 3.06%, followed by Dubai Islamic Bank, Arabtec Holding and Dubai Investments at 2.72%, 2.61% and 2.55% in a row.

The market saw trading of 58 million shares through 848 transactions, with turnover of AED 60.3 million.

The UAE markets are likely to see a downward trend on Tuesday amid investors’ bearish sentiment due to lower oil prices and lack of catalysts, analysts told Mubasher.
