Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Thursday’s trading session in the red, overshadowing its early gains.
The main index went down 0.22% or 7.5 points to reach 3,354.63 points.
The banks sector topped losers with a 0.86% decline as Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) slid 1.53%.
The investment sector levelled down 0.54% as DFM Company retreated 2.4%. The telecom and insurance sectors sank 0.32% and 0.08% respectively.
On the flipside, the transportation sector was the best performer after adding 0.53%, backed by Air Arabia which advanced 0.78%.
The services sector grew 0.2%, while the real estate sector increased 0.15% after Emaar Malls Group (EMG), Union Properties and Damac Properties closed higher.
Dar Al Takaful Company topped losers with a 3.06% decline, while Dubai Insurance Co. was the best performer after adding 14.8%.
DXB Entertainments was the most active stock after trading 60 million shares, with a turnover of AED 88.5 million.
