DFM falls over 42 pts on Emirates NBD, Emaar Monday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market’s (DFM) general index lost 42.31 points, or 1.46%, to close at 2,847.14 points on Monday, dragged down by Emirates NBD and Emaar Properties.

The banks sector declined 2.4%, as Dubai’s biggest lender Emirates NBD dropped 4.6% to AED 9.38, while Emaar Properties sank 2.3% to AED 5.12.

On the other hand, the consumer staples sector grew 0.82% after DXB Entertainments rose 0.92%.

The DFM’s trading volume reached 57.4 million shares, while the market’s liquidity amounted to AED 125.6 million.
