DFM gains 43 pts Thursday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a positive performance on Thursday, backed by the rise of blue chips.

The general index added 1.23% or 43 points to reach 3,537.42 points.

The real estate sector went up 1.77% after Damac Properties, Emaar Properties, Emaar Malls Group (EMG), and Union Properties (UP) gained 5%, 1.02%, 2.02%, and 0.52%, respectively.

The banks sector added 0.65% after Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) and Emirates NBD climbed 0.52% and 1.25%, respectively.

The transportation sector increased 0.07% due to a rise in Aramex by 0.19%.

On the other hand, the telecom sector fell 1.30% after du and Telecom Hits declined 1.30% and 1.03%, respectively.

Turnover amounted to AED 516.24 million after trading 278.9 million shares through 4,980 transactions.

DFM Company was the most active stock after trading 38.51 million shares, while Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) was the value leader after generating AED 111.58 million.
