DFM gains AED 2.79bn on Monday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) has increased slightly on Monday, backed by the rising blue-chip stocks.

The DFM’s general index edged up 21.65 points, or 0.78%, to 2,803.08 points.

Trading volume amounted to 120.37 million shares that were exchanged at a turnover of AED 126.96 million through 2,167 transactions.

Market capitalisation gained AED 2.79 billion and closed the session at AED 370.70 billion.

The investment and financial services sector went up by 0.85%, followed by the banks sector which added 0.53%.

On the other hand, the consumer staples sector fell by 2.43%, the real estate sector went down by 0.85%, and the services sector tumbled 0.80%.

The exchange has seen the rise of 18 stocks topped by Mashreq Bank that jumped by 13.64%, while other ten stocks fell headed by Amlak which fell by 6.32%.

Deyaar Development was the most active stock by volume with 27.74 million traded shares, while Arabtec was the most active stock by value with AED 18.52 million.
