DFM index opens higher

Dubai-Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a bearish performance in Monday’s early trades, amid the decline of the transportation and banks sectors.

The general index fell 0.05% or 1.89 points to reach 3,509.35 points by 11:00am UAE time.

The telecom sector was the worst performer after falling 0.75% as du retreated 0.75%.

The transportation sector slid 0.43% due to a decline in Air Arabia by 0.6%. Likewise, the banks sector went down 0.11% after Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) went down 0.2%.

On the flipside, the real estate sector gained 0.18% as Emaar Properties advanced 0.6%. The investment sector also went up 0.16% after Dubai Investments grew 0.5%.

The market saw trading of 73.12 million shares through 764 transactions, with a turnover of AED 76.48 million.
