DFM index opens lower

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a bearish performance on Monday, in line with the decline of six sectors topped by the consumer staples and investments.

The DFMGI fell 0.56% or 19.41 points to reach 3,454.97 points by 10:25am UAE time.

The consumer staples led losers after falling 1.24% as DXB Entertainments slid 1.27%. The investment sector also levelled down 1.1% due to a decline in SHUAA Capital by 3.9%.

The banks sector retreated 0.6% as Dubai Islamic Bank sank 1.11%. Similarly, the real estate sector decreased 0.45% as Emaar Properties tumbled 0.7%.

The market saw trading of 33.88 million shares through 447 shares, with a turnover of 447 transactions.
