Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed the week ended Thursday, 11 October on a low note, after losing 36.39 points, or 1.30%, to 2,755.32 points.
The investment and financial services sector was the worst performer with 5.4% after Dubai Investments' and the DFM Company's stocks retreated 6.52% and 2.94%, reaching AED 1.72% and AED 0.890, respectively.
The real estate sector levelled down 2.68% as Arabtec Holding’s stock slid 8.72%, followed by Drake & Scull International’s (DSI) stock with 7.2%, Damac Properties with 3.9%, and Emaar Properties with 2.96%.
The telecommunication sector and its only stock, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) decreased 1.21% each.
On the other hand, the insurance sector rose 4.69% after Islamic Arab Insurance Company’s (Salama) stock surged 9.8%.
On a weekly basis, the DFM’s trading volumed declined to 725.55 million shares, from 806.54 million, while liquidity dropped to AED 741.91 million, from AED 774.34 million.
