DFM loses 110 pts, hits 5-month low

Dubai – Mubasher: The main index of Dubai Financial Market (DFM) declined on Sunday by 3.25% or 109.5 points to 3,528.17 points, the lowest level since 20 January.

Markets analyst, Said Sallam, told Mubasher that the bourse was affected by the negative performance of the neighbouring and global markets after Britain's EU exit vote.

The real estate sector was the worst performer after falling 4.8% as Arabtec, Emaar, shrank by 5.7% and 4.7% respectively.

The investment sector retreated 3.3%, dragged by the fall in SHUAA and Dubai Investments.

The banks sector also declined 1.9%, and the transportation sector fell 1.3%.

Trading volume increased to 374.72 million shares from 119.74 million shares exchanged on Thursday, turnover also rose to AED 514.1 million from AED 178.76 million.
