Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market closed in red for the third session in a row on Wednesday, bogged by weaker blue-chips in the (affected by the fall in leading shares of) the banks, real estate and energy sectors.
The main index dipped 0.66% or 22 points to the level of 3,299.82 points.
Trading volume rose to 466.8 million shares from 409.686 million shares on Tuesday.
Turnover also increased to AED 626 million ($170.435 million) from AED 517.4 million ($140.067 million) yesterday.
The investment sector dropped 2.9% as Dubai Investments fell 4.5%.
The real estate sector slid 1.09% as Emaar and Emaar Malls shrank 2.6% and 1.5% respectively.
The banks sector also slipped 0.28% after Emirates NBD Bank and Dubai Islamic Bank fell 1.14% and 0.5% respectively.
Arabtec was the most active share with liquidity of AED 134.6 million ($36.64 million). The stock rose 3.8% to AED 1.6 ($0.44).
