DFM loses 42.14 pts on Sunday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Sunday’s trading session on a negative note.

The DFM’s general index fell 42.14 points, or 1.46%, to 2,857.92 points.

Trading volume went down to 90.34 million shares today, versus 93.54 million shares last Thursday, while liquidity retreated to AED 107.98 million from AED 154.4 million.

The real estate sector led decliners with 3.2% as Emaar Properties and Emaar Development shed 4.04% to AED 5.23 and 3.56% to AED 4.6, respectively.

The banks sector dropped 1.09%, pressured by Emirates NBD and Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) that slipped 0.84% and 0.75%, respectively.

 Likewise, the consumer staples and the investment sectors levelled down by 1.87% and 1.81%, respectively.

The bourse’s market capitalisation lost AED 3.09 billion and closed the session at AED 372.76 billion.
