Dubai-Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw higher losses at close on Monday, amid the decrease of positions in blue-chip stocks.
The benchmark index slid 0.69% or 24.4 points to reach 3,535.29 points.
The consumer staples sector led losers after falling 1.7%, dragged down by Dubai Parks and Resorts which retreated 1.7%.
The real estate sector decreased 0.9% as Drake and Scull International (DSI), Arabtec Holding and Emaar Properties which went down 3%, 1.4% and 0.3% respectively.
The investment sector fell 0.7% after DFM Company slid 2.8%. The banks sector also declined 0.5% as Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) lost 0.7%.
The market saw trading of 171.41 million shares on Monday, compared to 225.6 million shares on Sunday. Turnover stood at AED 215.49 million, compared to AED 286 million.
