DFM losses widen in mid-session

Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) deepened its losses in Monday’s mid-session, weighed by selling pressures on Emaar Properties and Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB).

The DFMGI lost 1.34% or 42.26 points to reach 3,118.66 points by 12:30pm UAE time.

Emaar slid 1.2%, while DIB decreased 0.3%.

The investment sector topped losers after declining 2.14%, followed by the banks (-1.7%), the consumer staples (-1.5%), the real estate (-1.25%), the transportation (-1.07%) and the insurance (-0.55%).

On the other hand, the services and telecom sectors rose 1.5% and 0.4%.

Turnover reached AED 159.06 million after 180.46 million shares were traded through 2,430 transactions.
