DFM maintains downward performance on Wednesday

Dubai – Mubasher: The benchmark index of Dubai Financial Market (DFM) declined by 1.96% or 52.34 points to 2,620.69 points by the end of Wednesday’s trading session, maintaining its downward performance on Tuesday, 25 February.

A total of 133.9 million shares were exchanged through 2,767 transactions at a value of AED 286.60 million.

The market cap value declined by AED 4.61 billion to AED 368.29 billion from AED 372.90 billion during the previous session.

Meanwhile, the investment and financial services sector topped the decliners with 2.41%.

Ajman Bank led 22 losing stocks with 7.14%, while National General Insurance came on top of five winners with 4.55%.

At the same time, Emaar Properties closed down 2.73%, posting the highest trading volume of 18.03 million shares, while Emirates NBD recorded the highest turnover of AED 71.40 million.

Dubai Investments headed the losing blue chips with a 3.05% decline.
