DFM maintains negative performance on Wednesday

Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Wednesday’s trading session on a negative note, maintaining its downward performance for the second consecutive session.

The main index dropped by 2.24% or 56.81 points to register 2,479.4 points.

A total of 167.38 million shares were traded through 2,440 transactions at a value of AED 222.32 million.

The market cap value declined by AED 5.01 billion to AED 353.33 billion from AED 358.34 billion during the previous session.

The real estate sector topped the decliners with 2.77%, followed by consumer staples with 2.17% and banks with 1.87%.

Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB) led 25 losing stocks as it dropped by 9.84%, while Dar Al Takaful headed three rising stocks and gained 4.91%.

Meanwhile, Air Arabia was the most actively traded stock with 27.73 million shares, while DIB recorded the highest turnover of AED 49.30 million.

Damac Properties was the biggest loser among blue-chip stocks, falling by 3.79%.
