DFM marks 2.5-yr low Monday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market’s (DFM) general index lost 61.2 points, or 2.09%, to close at 2,867.85 points on Monday, its lowest level in around a two-and-a-half year period.

The investment sector tumbled 3.6%, as Dubai Investments dropped 3.9% to AED 1.93.

The real estate sector declined 2.8% after Arabtec Holding plunged 5.6% to AED 2.02, while Damac Properties and Emaar Properties went down 3.86% to AED 2.24 and 2.69% to AED 5.06, respectively.

The consumer staples sector decreased by 2.5%, as DXB Entertainments shed 1.13% to AED 0.351, while the transportations sector lost 1.14% after Gulf Navigation and Aramex levelled down 2.14% and 1.25%, consecutively.

The DFM’s trading volume reached 220.47 million shares, while the market’s liquidity amounted to AED 289.04 million.
