DFM opens Monday in red

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) suffered losses in Monday’s early trades, weighed down by the fall of four sectors led by the consumer staples and real estate.

The main index fell 0.01% or 0.47 points to stand at 3,664.76 points by 11:00am UAE time.

The consumer staples sector led losers with a 1.36% declined, weighed down by Marka which went down 4.9%.

The telecom sector retreated 0.9% as du sank 0.9%. The real estate sector also tumbled 0.2% after Emaar Properties levelled down 0.5%.

Turnover stood at AED 207.78 million after trading 136.44 million shares through 1,799 transactions.
