DFM opens Wednesday higher

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a positive performance in Wednesday’s early trades, spurred by the growth of banks stocks.

The DFMGI added 0.21% or 7.54 points to reach 3,650.39 points by 10:40am UAE time.

The banks sector topped gainers with a 0.85% rise as Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) and Emirates NBD levelled up 1.18% and 0.95% respectively.

The insurance sector increased 0.09% after Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance Co. (AMAN) grew 2%.

On the flipside, the transportation sector fell 0.17% after Aramex declined 0.5%. The investment sector decreased 0.06% as SHUAA Capital retreated 0.6%.

Turnover amounted to AED 397.31 million after trading 174.5 million shares through 2,115 transactions.
