DFM opens Wednesday in red

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a bearish performance in Wednesday’s early trades, dragged down by the fall of four sectors topped by the transportation and consumer staples.

The DFMGI lost 0.07% or 2.7 points to reach 3,669.64 points by 10:30am UAE time.

The transportation sector was the worst performer with a 0.63% decline as Air Arabia levelled down 0.7%. The consumer staples sector declined 0.6% after DXB Entertainments sank 0.8%.

On the other hand, the investment sector advanced 0.43% due to a rise in SHUAA Capital by 5.26%. The real estate sector also gained 0.17% as Emaar Properties added 0.5%.

Turnover amounted to AED 345.58 million after trading 234.94 million shares through 2,276 transactions.
