DFM opens higher on blue chips

Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw an upward trend in Tuesday’s early trades, backed by major stocks in the investment, real estate and banks sectors.

The general index gained 0.8% or 26.9 points to 3,450.8 points by 10:30am UAE time.

The investment sector advanced 3.6% as Shuaa Capital and Dubai Investments levelled up 1.9% and 1.3%, respectively.

The real estate sector increased 0.9% after Emaar Properties, and Drake and Scull International recovered 1.14% and 0.9% in a row.

The banks sector grew 0.7% due to a 1.3% rise in Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB).

The market saw trading of 153.75 million shares through 1,600 transactions, with turnover of AED 175.5 million.
