DFM opens in green, gains 0.7%

Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw positive performance on Thursday, backed by the gains of leading stocks in the real estate and banks sectors.

The general index rose 0.7% or 21 points to reach 3,006.78 points by 10:41am UAE time.

The UAE markets are expected to continue their upward trend after the US Federal Reserve raised interest rates for first time since 2006, analysts told Mubasher.

Turnover reached AED 21 million after 16.3 million shares were traded through 306 transactions.

The real estate sector gained 1.24% after Emaar Properties and Arabtec Holding levelled up 1.63% and 1.4%, respectively.

The banks sector advanced 0.4% as Dubai Islamic Bank and Amlak Finance increased 0.54% and 3.3%, respectively.

The telecom, investment and industrial sectors remained unchanged.
