DFM opens lower on blue chips

Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) witnessed a downward trend on Wednesday, dragged by most sectors.

The DFMGI went down 0.50% or 15.3 points to reach 3,049.56 points by 11:20am UAE time.

The transportation sector lost 1.04% due to a 1.6% decline in Air Arabia.

The real estate sector retreated 0.69% as Emaar Properties decreased 1.06%.

The banks sector levelled down 0.18% after Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) slid 0.17%.

Meanwhile, the industrial and telecom sectors remained unchanged.

The market saw trading of 134.13 million shares through 1,853 transactions, with trading value of AED 149.19 million.
