DFM plunges 69 pts in week

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market’s (DFM) general index went down by 68.7 points, or 2.38%, to 2,819.69 points in a week.

The banking sector declined by 2.86%, while the real estate, consumer staples, and investment sectors shed 2.22%, 6.08%, and 3.9%, respectively.

The Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) levelled down by 3.8%, while Emirates NBD lost 2.24% and Emaar Properties decreased by 3%. Dubai Investments sank 3.8% and DXB Entertainments dropped by 7.1%.

Market capitalisation went down to AED 370.314 billion over the week, compared to AED 375.866 billion in the previous week.

The DFM’s trading volume reached 484.81 million shares, while liquidity amounted to AED 1.08 million.
