DFM resumes losses at Thursday’s open

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a negative performance in Thursday’s early trades, weighed down by the fall of Emaar Properties.

The DFMGI retreated 0.05% or 1.82 points to reach 3,651.71 points by 10:40am UAE time.

The telecom sector led losers with a 2.34% decline as du slid 2.34%.

The consumer staples sector slid 0.54% after DXB Entertainments levelled down 0.6%. The services sector also sank 0.28% as Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance Co. (AMAN) tumbled 0.8%.

The real estate sector declined 0.08% due to a decrease in Emaar Properties by 0.67%.

On the flipside, the banks sector topped gainers with a 0.21% rise after Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) grew 0.6%.

The market saw trading of 183 million shares through 1,733 transactions, with a turnover of AED 208.66 million.
