DFM resumes losses at open

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a negative performance in Wednesday’s early trades, weighed down by the fall of eight sectors led by the investment and transportation.

The DFMGI slid 1.8% or 60.48 points to reach 3,246 points by 10:30am UAE time.

The services sector was the worst performer with a 3% decline, dragged down by the fall of Amanat Holdings which retreated 2.63%. The transportation sector also decreased 2.7% as Air Arabia levelled down 2.63%.

The investment sector sank 2.64% as DFM Company and Dubai Investments lost 2.6% and 2.9% respectively. Likewise, the real estate sector also slid 2.12% as Emaar Properties tumbled 2.2%, while the banks sector declined 0.8% as Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) went down 1.2%.

Turnover stood at AED 216.32 million after trading 163 million shares through 1,880 transactions.
