DFM resumes rise on blue-chip gains Wednesday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Wednesday in the green backed by strong selective buying on several leading stocks, particularly Emaar.

The general index gained 0.76% or 22.6 points to close the session at 2,979.54 points.

The services sector led risers with 1.65% after Amanat Holdings grew 1.7% to AED 1.22, while the real estate sector increased 1.32% after Emaar Properties added 1.71% to AED 5.37.

The banks sector was up 0.72Z% after Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) rose 1.2% to AED 5.09, while the investment sector went up 0.56% after the DFM Company gained 1.03% to AED 0.980.

The other hand, the transport sector shed 0.81% after Air Arabia decreased 1.87% to AED 1.05.

Turnover fell to AED 99.33 million on Wednesday from AED 136.19 million on Tuesday, while traded volume reached 57.16 million shares versus 75.55 million.
