DFM retreats over 26 pts in week

Dubai – Mubasher: The general index of the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) shed 26.5 points, or 0.94%, to 2,813.91 points in a week.

Market capitalisation decreased to AED 364.06 billion over the week, compared to AED 365.56 billion a week earlier.

The investment sector declined by 7.06% after Dubai Investments lost 8.12%, while DFM Company and Shuaa Capital went down 3.3% and 5.7%, respectively.

The consumer staples sector lost 3.42% and the real estate sector levelled down 1.6%, as Emaar Properties and Arabtec Holding shed 2.83% and 3.12%, respectively.

On the other hand, the banking sector grew 0.3%, as Dubai Islamic Bank gained 1.9%. Emaar Development and Emaar Malls rose 5.05% and 1.76% respectively.
