DFM retreats to lowest level in 7 years on Monday

Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) dropped to its lowest level in seven years by the end of Monday’s trading session amid the sharp drop in oil prices and fear over coronavirus.

The benchmark index plunged by 8.29% or 188.01 points to 2,078.92 points.

A total of 289.38 million shares were traded at a value of AED 387.69 million.

The market cap value closed at AED 311.99 billion, down by AED 19.63 billion from AED 331.62 billion during the previous session on Sunday, 8 March.

The real estate sector topped the decliners with 8.7%.

Meanwhile, Amanat Holdings headed the red zone with around 10%, followed by Damac Properties and Emirates NBD with 10% and 9.95%, respectively.
