DFM rises in early trade, fuelled by telecoms

Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) opened Thursday higher, with the benchmark adding 0.7% or 22.2 points to reach the 3,247.73 level at 10:35am UAE time.

The market was boosted by the telecom sector which was up 2.5% on du that added the same percentage.

The real estate sector also rose 1.13%, spurred by Arabtec and Emaar which gained 7.3% and 1.04% in a row.

Capital market analysts forecasted the UAE markets to swing between gains and losses on Thursday as some portfolios have a tendency for accumulation and speculation, pressuring the stocks.

On the other hand, the commodities and insurance sectors fell 0.9% and 0.16%, respectively. Services also moved 0.06% lower.

A total of 193.6 million shares were exchanged through 2,434 transactions at a total turnover of AED 261.23 million.
