DFM rises on blue chips at open

Dubai-Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a positive performance in Sunday’s early trades, amid the rise of blue chips especially in the real estate and banks sectors.

The main index went up 0.63% or 21.94 points to reach 3,494.32 points by 11:00am UAE time.

The industrial sector was the best performer after adding 14.9%, backed by National Cement Company which rose 14.9%. Likewise, the consumer staples sector levelled up 1.13% as Dubai Parks and Resorts grew 1.16%.

The transportation sector advanced 1.1% as Air Arabia went up 1.4%. Likewise, the real estate sector grew 1.03% as Arabtec Holding added 3.36%.

The investment banks sector rose 0.9% and 0.16% after Dubai Investments and Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) increased 0.9% and 0.19% respectively.

The market saw trading of 66.54 million shares through 930 transactions, with a turnover of AED 123.73 million.
