DFM sees gains on DIB, Emaar Thursday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a positive performance on Thursday, spurred by the rise of blue chips topped by Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) and Emaar Properties.

The general index added 0.74% or 24.98 points to reach 3,420.19 points.

The rise of oil prices and recovery of some companies’ first-quarter financials encouraged investors to increase their positions in UAE stocks, according technical analyst Ahmed Ismail.

The market did not recover as the main index is still below 3,450 points, the analyst added.

The investment sector topped gainers with a 1.82% rise as Dubai Investments went up 2.36%.

The banks sector went up 0.92% as Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) increased 1.57%.

The real estate sector rose 0.74% after Emaar Properties levelled up 1.08%.

Trading volume reached 250.39 million shares on Thursday, compared to 173.72 million shares on Wednesday. Turnover amounted to AED 342.72 million, compared to AED 328.6 million.
