DFM sees losses amid tighter liquidity

Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) continued its losses for the third session in a row amid low liquidity on Thursday, weighed by the losses of Emaar Properties, Emirates NBD, Dubai Islamic Bank and Arabtec Holding.

The DFMGI declined 0.64% or 16.8 points to reach end-2013 level of 2,621.96 points.

Turnover reached AED 324.17 million ($88.26 million) today, compared to AED 417.5 million ($113.7 million) on Wednesday. Trading volume stood at 297.17 million shares, compared to 338.7 million shares.

The real estate sector declined 1.92%, while the real estate, banks and investments sectors retreated 1.1%, 0.47% and 0.53%, respectively.

Tracking stock performance, Emaar led losers after falling 0.91%, followed by Emirates NBD, Arabtec Holding and Dubai Investments.
