Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a bearish performance in Monday’s early trades, weighed by most sectors.
The general index lost 1.6% or 55.58 points to reach 3,466.78 points by 10:30am UAE time.
The real estate sector went down 2.12% as Emaar Properties declined 2.6%.
The investment sector slid 2.14% due, hit by Dubai Investments which lost 2.5%.
The banks sector fell 0.86% after Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) decreased 2.12%.
The UAE stock markets are likely to continue their volatile trend on Monday as Doha talks fail to freeze oil production and portfolio investors tend to liquidate some stocks, while buyers are ready to bet on others, analysts told Mubasher.
Oil-producing countries at the Doha meeting failed to reach an agreement Sunday on a production freeze as they needed "more time" to make the decision, Qatar's Energy Minister Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada said.
The market saw trading of 132.7 million shares through 1,740, with turnover of AED 187 million.
