DFM sees losses at open

Dubai-Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a negative performance in Monday’s early trades, weighed down by the real estate and investment sectors.

The general index fell 0.04% or 1.35 points to reach 3,566.02 points by 10:15am UAE time.

The investment sector topped losers with a 0.14% decline, weighed down by Gulf General Investment Co. which retreated 1.38%.

The real estate sector slid 0.12% due to a decline in Drake and Scull International (DSI) by 4.07%.

On the flipside, the consumer staples sector rose 0.6% as Dubai Parks and Resorts went up 0.5%.

The market saw trading of 41.42 million shares through 581 transactions, with a turnover of AED 50.05 million.
