DFM sees losses on banks, real estate sectors

Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) resumed its bearish performance on Sunday amid profit-taking on leading stocks in the banks and real estate sectors.

The general index declined 1.53% or 47 points to close at 3,026.05 points.

The market’s negative performance is mainly attributed to the profit-taking on blue-chip stocks in the real estate and banks sectors, said financial analyst Mahmoud Abu Zeid.

Turnover reached AED 169.94 million after 190.59 million shares were traded through 2,956 transactions.

The banks sector declined 1.9% as Emirates NBD and Dubai Islamic Bank retreated 4.09% and 1.19%, respectively.

The real estate sector decreased 1.5% after Arabtec Holding and Emaar Properties levelled down 3.6% and 0.87% in a row.
