DFM sheds 21 pts in week

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) general index fell 0.77% or 21.3 at the end of a week, ended Thursday, as investors maintain caution and continue to weigh on the rising shares of Dubai Islamic Bank.

The investment sector was down 2.57% after Dubai Investment fell 3.08% and Dubai Financial Market sank 0.46%.

Real Estate plummeted 1.3% after Damac Properties and Drake & Scull shed 1.48% and 4.4%, respectively.

The Banks sector dipped 0.50%, pressured by Dubai Islamic Bank that fell 1.33%.

In the flipside, the transportation sector rose 1.4% after Air Arabia gained 2.72% to AED 0.980.

The trading volume dropped to 764.7 million shares worth AED 820.19 million versus 1.026 billion shares worth AED 964.32 million recorded last week.
