DFM suffers 4th straight loss Wednesday

Dubai- Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) ended Wednesday in decline for the fourth consecutive session as sell-off weighed on some of the blue-chip stocks.

The DFM’s general index closed Wednesday’s trading session 0.48% down at 2,712.87 points, losing 13 points.

Market capitalisation fell to AED 354.85 billion by the end of the session, shedding around AED 1.11 billion from AED 355.96 billion on Tuesday.

The goods sector led top the losers with a 2.35% drop as DXB Entertainments slipped 2.8% to AED 0.211.

Likewise, the investment sector tumbled 1.41% as Dubai Investments fell by 1.5% to AED 1.3, and the real estate sector plummeted as Damac Properties fell 2.63% to AED 1.11 and Emaar Properties slid 1.49% to AED 4.63.

The services sector inched down 0.45% as Tabreed fell by 1.28% and the banks sector levelled down 0.22% as the heavyweight Emirates NBD lost 0.42%.

On the other hand, top gainer stocks were spearheaded by Dubai Insurance which jumped 11.11%, followed by Aramex, Arabtec, and Emaar Development which rose by 1.74%, 1.02%, and 0.84%, respectively.

The bourse’s turnover amounted to AED 136.59 million as 107.53 million shares were exchanged through 1,994 transactions.
