DFM suffers losses Wednesday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a negative performance on Wednesday, weighed down by the fall of blue chips.

The main index retreated 0.68% or 23.3 points to reach 3,379.01 points.

The real estate sector led losers with a 1.15% decline as Arabtec Holding, Emaar Properties and Union Properties sank 8.11%, 1.39% and 1.18%, respectively.

The banks sector retreated 0.68% after Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), Al Salam Bank and Emirates NBD sank 1.04%, 0.9% and 0.5%, respectively.

The investment sector levelled down 0.6% as SHUAA Capital, Gulf General Investment Company (GGICO) and Dubai Investments fell 5.13%, 1.33% and 0.48%, respectively.

The insurance and services sector went down 0.52% and 0.46% due to a decline in Salama and Tabreed by 2.15% and 1.43%, respectively.

The market saw trading of 99.96 million shares through 2,900 transactions, with a turnover of AED 183.23 million.
