DFM suffers weekly losses amid higher trades

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a negative performance in the week ended 3 November, weighed down by the decline of banks, real estate and telecom stocks.

The main index fell 0.6% or 20 points to reach 3,298.43 points.

Turnover grew to AED 1.31 billion this week, compared to AED 1.22 billion last week. Trading volume increased to 819.573 million shares, compared to 798.3 million shares.

The telecom sector retreated 1.47% as du decreased 1.47%. The banks sector also levelled down 0.47% after Dubai Islamic Bank lost 2.66%.

The real estate sector sank 0.33% as Emaar Properties tumbled 1.46%.

On the flipside, the investment sector went up 0.53% after as GFH Financial Holding and Amlak Finance rose 6% and 2.6% respectively.
