DFM up on Monday; market cap adds AED 6.32bn

Dubai – Mubasher: The benchmark index of Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Monday’s trading session at 2,536.66 points, rising by 2.54% or 62.84 points, recovering some of its steep losses on Sunday.

The market cap value rose by AED 6.32 billion to AED 358.37 billion up from AED 352.05 billion during the previous session.

A total of 143.68 million shares were traded through 3,366 transactions at a total value of AED 241.55 million.

Regarding the sectors, services topped the risers with 3.26%, followed by the real estate with 2.86% and the investment and financial services sector with 2.43%.

Khaleeji Commercial Bank came on top of 31 gaining stocks and added 6.21%, while National General Insurance Company led three losers and declined by 4.35%.

Meanwhile, Union Properties posted the highest trading volume with 21.56 million shares, while Emaar Properties recorded the highest turnover of AED 53.87 million.

Damac Properties headed the rising blue chips with 5.15%.
