DFM up on Wednesday; market cap reaches AED 312.76bn

Dubai – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) rose by 0.99% or 22.17 points to settle at 2,246.78 points by the end of Wednesday's trading session, maintaining its positive performance on 18 August.

A total of 343.31 million shares were traded through 5,186 transactions valued at AED 344.74 million.

The market cap value rose by around AED 2.29 billion to AED 312.76 billion, compared to AED 310.47 billion during the previous session.

The banks sector led the winners with 1.78%, followed by the consumer staples segment with 1.53%.

Emirates NBD topped the rising stocks with 2.87%, while Arabtec Holding led the losing stocks with 4.94%.

Union Properties posted the highest trading volume of 158.80 million shares, while Emaar Properties, up 1.74%, recorded the highest turnover of AED 75.14 million.

 Arabtec Holding came on top of the losing blue chips with 4.95%.
