DFM up on investment stocks Thursday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a bullish performance on Thursday, amid higher purchases of blue chips in the investment sector.

The main index increased 0.29% or 10.46 points to reach 3,627.86 points.

The rise of investment and banks stocks pushed the market to close higher, amid expectations of positive annual results, capital market analyst Mohamed Al-Azmi told Mubasher.

The investment sector topped gainers after adding 2.7% as Dubai Investments and DFM Company increased 3.6% and 1.5% respectively.

The insurance sector levelled up 1.07% after Aman Insurance rose 14.02%. The banks sector grew 0.8% as Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) increased 1.24%.

Trading volume reached 203.62 million shares on Thursday, compared to 684.88 million shares on Wednesday. Turnover amounted to AED 628.33 million, compared to AED 695.38 million.

Investors’ sentiment was positively affected by the growth of other Gulf stock markets, the analyst added.

The DFMGI is expected to attract investments and rise to 3,640-3,700 points, Al-Azmi explained.
