DFMGI marks 25 session-low Monday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market’s (DFM) general index shed 0.23% or 7.62 points to close at 3,378.14 points on Monday, touching its lowest level in 25 sessions.

The DFM’s trading volume increased to 171.436 million shares from 60.74 million on Sunday, while the market’s liquidity nearly doubled to AED 247.9 million, compared to AED 124.97 million in the previous session.

The banks sector lost 0.4% after Emirates NBD tumbled 2.25%, while the real estate sector levelled down 0.34%, as Union Properties and Emaar Properties went down 2.38% and 0.61%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the investment sector rose 1.35% after SHUAA Capital and Dubai Investments added 1.77% and 1.67%, respectively.  

The transportations sector sank 1.04%, as Gulf Navigation dropped 2.89%.

Ithmaar topped the DFM’s losers, falling 10%, and led the market in terms of both trading volume and value, with 66.44 million traded shares and a turnover of AED 61 million.
