DIB, Arabtec push DFM to see downward trend

Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed in the red on Sunday, weighed by Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) and Arabtec Holding.

The general index fell 0.93% or 30 points to close at 3,174.34 points.

Turnover declined to AED 236.2 million ($64.3 million) on Sunday, compared to AED 336.27 million ($91.55 million) on 30 November. Meanwhile, trading volume rose to 245.2 million shares from 193.5 million shares.  

The banks sector retreated 2.3% as Dubai Islamic Bank declined 4.53%.

The real estate sector lost 0.42% as Arabtec fell 1.82%. Meanwhile, Emaar Properties rose 0.52%.

The investments sector levelled down 0.26% due to a decrease in DFM Company by 0.84%.

The telecom sector added 0.4%, backed by du which rose to AED 5.05.
